Open-pollinated. Deep yellow warted fruits with bulbous shape &narrow curved necks. Best when picked young. Likely grown by Native Americans; dates to 1700 & a standard in early 19th century American seed catalogs. The 1888 Burpee catalog described it as “covered with warty excrescences” but called the flavor “excellent.”
